Chapel named ‘best attraction’ in Regional Thistle Awards

Rosslyn Chapel has been named ‘best visitor attraction’ in the regional final of the Scottish Thistle Awards.

The winners of the Central South East Regional Finals were announced on Wednesday, 11 November, at a dinner at Prestonfield House Hotel, in Edinburgh. The finalists for the best visitor attraction category also included The Wallace Monument and Born in the Borders, Jedburgh. The Chapel now joins other regional winners in the national finals, which will be held in March 2016.

Ian Gardner, Director of Rosslyn Chapel Trust, said ‘It is fantastic news that we have won the regional final in the ‘best visitor attraction’ category of the prestigious Scottish Thistle Awards. Since completing the major conservation project at Rosslyn Chapel, our focus has been to keep enhancing the visitor experience and this award is great recognition for all members of our team who work hard to ensure that coming to the Chapel is one of the best visitor experiences in Scotland’.

For over 20 years, the Scottish Thistle Awards programme has celebrated excellence and innovation across the Scottish tourism industry, encouraged businesses to be proud of their achievements and supported growth through common raised standards. The awards are organised by VisitScotland.
