Twilight grey helps the Chapel become greener

Rosslyn Chapel is raising its ‘green’ credentials with the acquisition of an all-electric van.

Local Nissan car dealership, Alex F Noble & Son based at Straiton by Loanhead, has supplied a twilight grey Nissan eNV200 all-electric van to the Chapel. The Holy Grail of zero emission compact vans is already bringing significant savings in running costs for the Rosslyn Chapel Trust, the charity which oversees the Chapel’s conservation and public access, while also helping the environment by bringing CO2 emissions down to zero at the point of use.

Ian Gardner, Director of Rosslyn Chapel Trust said: “Rosslyn Chapel currently holds a ‘silver’ award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme, so working in an environmentally-friendly way is very important to us. Many of our business-related journeys are in the local area around Midlothian and so leasing this electric van is an ideal way for us to operate economically, efficiently and sustainably.”

Alastair Loudon, an Electric Vehicle (EV) specialist at Alex F Noble & Son Nissan said: “We’re very pleased to see Rosslyn Chapel placing their faith in Nissan with the addition of an eNV200 all-electric van which seems to be already proving ideal for their busy daily journey schedule and saving money at the same time”.
