Church Services

A Working Church

Rosslyn Chapel, originally known as the Collegiate Church of St Matthew, is still a working church.

To find out more about church services and the work of the congregation, please visit the congregation’s website at this link www.stmatthews-rosslynchapel.org.uk. It is part of the Scottish Episcopal Church, in the Diocese of Edinburgh.

Normally, services are usually held on Sunday mornings at 10.30am. Evening Services are currently held on the first Sunday of the month, from April to October, at 5.15pm.  Visitors are always welcome to attend. Short prayer services, lasting around 10 minutes, are held throughout the year at 12.30pm  in the Chapel. The days for these are currently variable.

Weddings & Baptisms

Only members of the Rosslyn Chapel congregation may be allowed permission to have a wedding ceremony at the Chapel. To become a member of the congregation you must be able to attend services at Rosslyn Chapel on a regular basis. If you are unable to fulfil this requirement then your request will very likely be denied.

We regret that we cannot accommodate requests for wedding photography, either inside or outside the Chapel, other than for couples having their wedding ceremony here.

Baptisms are by special arrangement with the Priest and are normally incorporated within the Sunday morning sung Eucharist.
