We are all very sad to announce that William the Chapel Cat passed away very peacefully yesterday afternoon, in the care of ICR vets in Loanhead, and with two of our colleagues beside him.
At 17, he had a great life and we are so grateful to our near neighbours, the Smith family, for sharing him with us – and in turn, sharing him with hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world. Among his many achievements, he inspired a wonderful children’s book and was featured in cat magazines in Germany and Japan!
So many of you have asked about William over the years, so we thought you would want to know. RIP.
