Although Rosslyn Chapel had to close to visitors for a couple of days during the recent severe weather, it provided a great photo-opportunity for one visitor when it reopened.
This photo of the Chapel, posted on twitter by conservator Rob Thomson, showed an amazing icicle in the mouth of a gargoyle at the north door. Interest in the photo went beyond Rob’s 583 twitter followers after being retweeted over 2,400 times – including by author JK Rowling – and being ‘liked’ by nearly 13,000 people. Rob says that within just a few days his photo had been viewed 1,509,165 times – and, like the temperature now, rising all the time!
