New exhibition celebrates a photo partnership

A partnership between camera clubs in East Lothian and Sweden has led to a new exhibition of photos on this website.

Musselburgh Camera Club (MCC) originally began life in the 1960s as the Scottish Electricity Board Camera Club. The club now has approximately 35 members and meets at the Fisherrow Centre in Musselburgh. Mölnlycke Fotoklubb (MFK) is a camera club, based in Mölnlycke, on the outskirts of Gothenburg, in Sweden. The club was founded in 1973 and has approximately 45 members. Both clubs cater to all abilities.

Steven Beard, of Musselburgh Camera Club, said: “The cooperation between our two clubs started when Swedish photographers, Helen and Martin Lundén lived in Edinburgh and were members of MCC. They joined Mölnlycke Fotoklubb when they returned to Gotherburg but kept in touch, and the clubs have enjoyed joint online activities ever since. In 2019, our members were invited to visit Gothenburg and join their activities. The highlight of the trip was a special street photography session with Swedish photographer, Agneta Dellefors. We were delighted to return the favour in 2026, when eight members of Mölnlycke Fotoklubb travelled to Edinburgh. I learned that Rosslyn Chapel was top of their wish list of places to visit and, keen to give them a special highlight, I was delighted when Rosslyn Chapel staff agreed to let them photograph the inside of the Chapel out of hours. This exhibition is the result of that visit.”
