Description

Practically every surface of Rosslyn Chapel is covered in carvings, but you will find only one inscription in the whole building.

Written in Latin, it translates as: ‘Wine is strong. The King is stronger. Women are stronger still: but truth conquers all’.

These words arose from a trial of wisdom of the biblical King Darius.  The King judged each of the statements, declaring ‘truth’ to be the strongest of all.

This set of 4 pencils is each printed with a line of the inscription & is produced exclusively for Rosslyn Chapel by Judges in the UK
