Junior Guides reach national awards final

The children of Primary 7 at Roslin Primary School, the Chapel’s very own Junior Tour Guides, have reached the final stage of the Scottish Education Awards 2017.

The class were selected as finalists  from nominations all over Scotland and, on the day, they  came second equal in the category “Transforming Lives through Partnerships”, for our joint programme to deliver tours of the Chapel by children for  children.  This year’s group of Junior Guides have given tours of the chapel to over 300 children from Midlothian primary schools.

Fiona Rogan, Rosslyn Chapel Trust’s Learning and Outreach Manager said: ‘As part of the judging process, the Junior Guides had to “perform” to a group of adult assessors, and the award  demonstrates how confident and charming our young guides  were,  not just at the  assessment, but every time they performed at the Chapel.  We will soon wave goodbye to this group as they move on to high school, but look forward to training our new tour guides after the Summer holidays.’
