Rosslyn Chapel Trust is celebrating a hat trick of new awards nominations for its work, particularly in recognition of the major restoration and repair project at Rosslyn Castle.

The project has been shortlisted in –

The AJ Retrofit & Reuse Awards 2025 – ‘decarbonisation and net zero’ category with the winner announced at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 10 September.

Scottish Thistle Awards regional final – ‘climate action’ category for work at Rosslyn Castle and Chapel, with the winner announced at a ceremony in Edinburgh on Thursday 11 September

RICS UK Awards – ‘heritage’ and ‘environmental impact’ categories with winners announced at the UK Awards Grand Final ceremony on Thursday 16 October

The 2-year project at the Castle’s East Range included the reroofing of the Great Hall, consolidation of historic stonework and implementation of a new sustainable heating strategy meaning that the building is now net zero ready. The East Range is available for self-catering holiday accommodation through a partnership with The Landmark Trust.

Ian Gardner, Director of Rosslyn Chapel Trust, said: ’I am delighted to see our work being recognised through these nominations, which are a great tribute to the contractors, specialist sub-contractors and Design Team for our innovative project at Rosslyn Castle as well as our wider team across the Trust for their ongoing hard work and commitment to continuous improvement at the historic buildings in our care.’
