New opportunities for learning at Rosslyn Chapel

Rosslyn Chapel is pleased to be part of the Midlothian Council Adult Learning programme for 2014/15 with the following classes –

Local History, Monday 12th January 2015, 9.30 – 11.30am.

Family History, Wednesday 14th January 2015, 1.00 – 3.00pm.

Archaeology at the Chapel, Saturday 28th February 2015, 9.30am – 12.30pm.

The History of a Mystery

In this series of 3 lecture/discussion sessions, local historian and author Ian Robertson will attempt to unravel the fact from the fiction surrounding the Chapel.

Whether you have visited or not, there will be something new to discover about the St Clair family and the mysteries surrounding the unique medieval chapel that has looked over Roslin Glen for almost 600 years. Each session will consider a different aspect of the Chapel’s history: the family, the facts, and the fiction. The classes will run on 4, 11 and 18 March 2015 from 6.30pm – 8.30pm in Rosslyn Chapel Visitor Centre.

The Art of Sketching with Leo du Feu

Working and exploring in and around the stunning location of Rosslyn Chapel,  learn the art of sketching with well-known Scottish landscape, nature painter and tutor Leo du Feu. Leo will demonstrate new techniques each session and will be on hand to advise throughout The classes will run on Mondays for 5 weeks from 2nd to 30th March.
